Big Vision Awards

The First Annual Big Vision Awards were presented on June 14th, 2012.

THE BIG VISION AWARDS honors artists and innovators who have achieved success by creating their own paths and who support independent work.

2012 HONOREES:

Ken Davenport - Broadway and Off-Broadway Producer (Godspell, Chinglish, You’re Welcome America, Blithe Spirit, Speed the Plow, 13).

Miri Ben-Ari - Grammy award-winning violinist and recognized musical pioneer originally from Israel, credited for the creation of her own unique sound by a revolutionary fusion of classical style with jazz, R&B and hip hop.

Whit Stillman - Academy Award-Nominated Screenwriter/Director (Metropolitan, The Last Days of Disco, Damsels in Distress).

Matt Pinfield - Host of over 100 MTV specials, “120 Minutes” on MTV2, recognized as “The Rock and Roll Encyclopedia.”

Jacqueline Gonzalez - Executive Director of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Executive Producer of the Annual NY Emmy Awards.

PRESENTERS AND GUESTS INCLUDED: 

Roberta Flack, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Gabe Saporta (Lead Singer/Cobra Starship), Colleen Zenk (“As The World Turns”), Ryan Metcalf (Damsels in Distress).

The event featured a performance from Grammy Award-Winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari and was hosted by BVEW Co-Founder Dani Faith Leonard.
